Welcome to Communities at SouthSound.com. This service is intended to provide a means for community groups and not-for-profit organizations to set up Web pages free of charge so that they have a forum to communicate with their members and with the rest of the South Puget Sound. At this time, this service is not intended for personal Web sites. Since our service is designed to provide an informative service for all, you and your organization must comply with the following rules in order to participate.
1. Your organization is a not-for-profit organization with activities primarily in the South Puget Sound area and suburbs.
2. Your organization agrees to keep its calendar of events and other information current.
3. Your organization's license to use the service is specific to your organization, and you may not transfer or delegate that license to other organizations. Only SouthSound.com can grant permission for organizations to use the Communities service.
4. Your organization will not post any material of an obscene, sexually explicit, racist or hateful nature. Your organization will not use the service to invade anyone's privacy, or to encourage criminal conduct.
5. Your organization is responsible for ensuring that the material it publishes in its area of the service does not infringe on any third party's copyrights, trademarks or other intellectual property rights.
6. Your organization will not use the Communities service for commercial purposes and will not solicit sponsorships or advertising for its pages. Only SouthSound.com may sell advertising within the Communities service.
7. Your organization, at its option, may include references to the Communities service in its newsletters, correspondence to members or any other of its publications.
8. SouthSound.com reserves the right to refuse or terminate the publishing privileges of any group at any time for violations of these rules. It also may edit or remove any content or an organization's entire site without notice in case of violations of these rules. However, SouthSound.com is not responsible for monitoring users' activities. If you find something offensive in an organization's site, please notify us by sending e-mail to the Webmaster at webmaster@southsound.com.
9. Your organization may not use any information gathered from visitors to its site for any other purpose than to communicate about your organization's activities and events.
10. Your organization agrees that it has no ownership interest in the Communities service of SouthSound.com, including the software used in operating its site. Your organization understands and agrees that by publishing content within Communities, it is granting SouthSound.com a nonexclusive license in perpetuity to republish and/or reuse that content in other media, in compilations and in other formats.
11. Your organization agrees to indemnify and hold The News Tribune, SouthSound.com and Waveshift Technologies, Inc. (the company that owns the software used to support the Communities service.), harmless from any claims, lawsuits, demands, causes of action, judgments, costs or expenses arising out of or related to content that is published in your organization's area of the Communities section of SouthSound.com.
12. The Communities section of SouthSound.com is provided on an "as is" basis. SouthSound.com makes no warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including, without limitation, warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose or warranties regarding the accuracy, availability, reliability, security or completeness of the Communities service, including any outside resources to which the service may link. You agree that your organization's use of the service is at your organization's sole risk.
13. SouthSound.com reserves the right to update or change these rules from time to time and may do so by posting the new rules at this URL.
14. This document supersedes any prior agreement between the parties, whether written or oral.
15. If you don't agree to these rules, you need to exit the Communities service, and your organization will not be granted a license to use the service.
