As the 2005 recipients we are responsible for making the selection. We cannot do that without your help. We need to hear from round dancers throughout the state of Washington. Let us know why your cuer/teacher should be selected as the next recipient. The recipient of the Bob McNutt Round Dance Cuer/Teacher Award is to be a person cited for having done an outstanding job of teaching and promoting Round Dancing as a wholesome recreation for young and old alike. He/She is to be an active participant of the Square and Folk Dance Federation of Washington and must subscribe to its principles of Folk Dancing in general - that democracy and fair play are as important as having fun. He/She should have taught different rhythms and phases of Round Dancing to all ages of dancers. It is not to be construed as the best or the biggest of anything. The award is not intended as a prize in any kind of competition, but merely a symbol of recognition for inspiring work done in the field of Round Dancing. We are so honored to have received this prestigious award and to know that dancers felt we were a deserving cuer/teacher couple. Reflecting back at the precise time our name was announced as the new recipients we still find it hard to believe. It is time now to select a recipient for 2006. We need your help in finding that cuer/teacher you feel is deserving of this award. Please include information about your nominee as to his/her biography, the amount of years taught, their special efforts and interests they have had in our Round Dance activity. Give us all the knowledge you can gather and assume we do not know them. Your nomination for the Bob McNutt Cuer/Teacher Award must be sent to the address listed below and received by April 30, 2006.
