GFWC Peninsula District is a part of the General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC), which is one of the world's oldest nonpartisan, non denominational women's volunteer service organizations. There are eight member clubs in GFWC Peninsula District. The district meets four times a year. The members receive leadership training and project ideas to work in the areas of The Arts, Conservation, Education, Home Life, International Affairs, and Public Affairs. Clubs then do work in these areas in their own communities. Member clubs include: GFWC Bremerton, GFWC Chambers Bay (Lakewood/University Place/Tacoma), GFWC Commencement Bay (Federal Way/Tacoma),
